acknowledgment of country & tradition
This has changed - as I learn and study more, I evolve in my understanding of both the hurt and harm that yoga has causes and also the immense and profound healing it offers. I also acknowledge the ongoing process of colonisation and oppression, layered into yogaβs history and philosophy.
βI acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land, the Arrente and Walpiri people and pay my respects to the elders past & present. I recognise the land on which I live, work & practice, has never been ceded. I commit to learning, listening and understanding my way through this shared history.
When I am able to, I commit to donating a small portion of what I earn to local Aboriginal Led Organisation Childrens Ground. This is my way of Paying the Rent.
The Practice
βI acknowledge the long, complex, rich and multilayered history & tradtions of yoga, philopshy and spiritual lineages and also other modality practitioners such as Traditional Chinese medicine, who have strived and committed to do the inner work, to start the inner revolutions that then ripple into an outward revolution . The traditions are rich and varied, across countries, cultures and generations and have endured so much. I honour and acknowledge them all.
